The Solid Waste Certificate Program is designed for county officials, professionals, and staff who want to build or strengthen their knowledge of Tennessee county solid waste management systems.
Participants earn this certificate upon completion of eight (8) required courses totaling approximately twelve (12) hours. The program covers key topics such as local government structure, budgeting, legal obligations, customer service, and best practices for managing solid waste operations like convenience centers and transfer stations.
This certification program is 100% online and self-paced.
It is open to everyone, but it is geared toward those who directly deal with county solid waste operations.
